Niles Township High Schools District 219 is seeking an RTI Paraprofessional to support instructional programs and RTI/MTSS initiatives. You’ll assist in assessing at-risk students, implement intervention strategies, monitor progress, and report findings to pupil service staff.

Ideal candidates will have an Illinois Paraprofessional License, be proficient with office software, and exhibit strong organizational and communication skills, teamwork, and a commitment to confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Illinois Paraprofessional License or Substitute License required.
  • Experience in diverse, multicultural environment preferred.
  • Proficient with standard office equipment and software.

Associate Principal of Student Services

POSITION OBJECTIVE

The job of RTI Paraprofessional is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the assessment of at-risk students needs for Response to Intervention (RTI /RtI)) services and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS); implementing the RtI/MTSS program strategies; monitoring and reporting student behavior and performance; and providing information to appropriate school personnel.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Illinois Paraprofessional License or Substitute License as required by ISBE
  • Experience working successfully in a diverse, multicultural environment

Performance Responsibilities
Instructional Support & Student Services
  • Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials in conjunction with the pupil service team for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives and implementing 504 accommodations.
  • Assists students, individually or in small groups, for the purpose of practicing and/or reinforcing intervention strategies.
  • Provides instruction to students in a variety of individual and group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives; implementing 504 plans; and ensuring student success in school.
  • Facilitates student learning for the purpose of achieving success in academic skills.
  • Plan and provide students with executive functioning curriculum activities/lessons.
  • Direct students on APEX (online) courses and verify course completion.
  • Provides time-limited supervision for the purpose of providing a positive learning environment.
Student Monitoring, Assessment & Data Management
  • Maintain and support student caseload academic progress and provide data to make recommendations regarding the efficacy of interventions.
  • Prepare and plan student caseload and create weekly goals for grades and attendance.
  • Maintain student attendance records.
  • Administer tests and make-up tests.
  • Reports observations and incidents relating to specific students, in support of the pupil service team, for the purpose of communicating information to appropriate instructional and/or administrative personnel.
Collaboration & Communication
  • Collaborates with instructional staff, professional support personnel, and parents for the purpose of assisting in evaluating needs for and progress of RTI intervention strategies.
  • Communicates with parents and teachers via emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings for the purpose of advising them of non-attendance issues, progress, or providing information on needed follow-up services.
  • Supports pupil service team and other school personnel for the purpose of assisting them in the implementation of curriculum and integrating RTI intervention strategies.
Professional Responsibilities & Recordkeeping
  • Attends meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
  • Maintains manual and electronic files and records for the purpose of providing written reference and/or meeting mandated requirements.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit pertaining to District 219.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

187 day calendar

WORKING CONDITIONS

The usual and customary methods of performing the jobs functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 50% sitting, 25% walking, and 25% standing. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.

SALARY RANGE

P1 with hourly bump for BA degree or higher
