Grand Forks Education Department seeks a multilingual paraprofessional to support instructional staff and multilingual language students. The role involves assisting teachers, reinforcing learning, and working with small groups.
Nine-month academic year; confidentiality; professional development; teamwork; preference for candidates with bachelor’s in education or ND teaching license; high school diploma required.
High school diploma or high school equivalent. Preference to those with abachelor’s degree in education or related field. Preference to applicants with North Dakota Teaching License.
Human relations skills, basic academic skills, ability to work on teams, experience working with appropriate grade level of students, and demonstrates effective communication skills. Preferance to those who are fluent in a 2nd language.
The Multi-lingual paraprofessional works cooperatively, assisting the Multi-lingual teacher and classroom teachers in the instruction ofMulti-lingual Language students.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, walk and stand. Lift sixty (60) lbs. occasionally, with the ability to reach, stand, walk, carry, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, sit, and/or crawl. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely. Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
Nine (9) months, academic school year.
Job performance will be evaluated by the Supervising Teacher, Building Administrator.
