Job summary

White Bear Lake Area Schools, ISD #624 seeks an enthusiastic Instructional Assistant to support our Kindergarten and 2nd Grade Programs. The successful candidate will work with classroom teachers to promote academic growth and a positive learning environment for early learners.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with AA/AS degrees or 60 credits preferred. Training in Blood Borne Pathogens and Crisis Prevention Intervention is expected after hire.

Job description

Start Date: 26-27 SY (ASAP)

Salary: Per Paraprofessional Agreement, Level 1

Student Level: Kindergarten and/or 3rd Grade

Work Week: Monday - Friday, 6.5 hours per day.

Education And /or Experience

High school diploma or GED and moderate experience working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Associates/Technical degree preferred.

Special Requirements

Must hold AA/AS degree, completed 60 semester credits, or pass MN Paraprofessional test. Training in Blood Borne Pathogens upon hire. Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention within 6-12 months upon hire as needed for program. Valid driver's license in the State of Minnesota

Position Summary

• Passion for working with young children and supporting bilingual education.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with teachers, staff, and families.
• Ability to adapt to the diverse needs of students.
• Previous experience in an educational setting is preferred, but not required.
