Job summary

Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is seeking a Paraprofessional (Teacher’s Assistant) to join our Phoenix campuses. You will provide individualized and small-group support, assist with classroom management, and help create a positive, structured learning environment for K–8 students.

The role offers competitive pay starting at $15.50–$17 per hour DOE, with benefits and opportunities for growth. This position requires a High School Diploma, and Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with children in educational or youth settings.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to obtain Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Responsibilities

• Support lead teachers by assisting with lesson activities, classroom management, and transitions.
• Work one-on-one or in small groups to reinforce skills and support individualized learning plans.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, orderly, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Substitute for lead teachers as needed to ensure learning continues.
• Prepare instructional materials and assist with grading or documentation as directed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet students' academic and social-emotional needs.
