Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred; ISBE paraprofessional license or comparable out-of-state licensure required.
• Experience working with students or youth, especially in urban school settings, strongly preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both written and spoken.
• Flexibility, adaptability, collaboration, and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-class support to promote access to the curriculum and instructional model.
• Assist teachers in delivering services to students with disabilities.
• Implement accommodations and modifications under the teacher’s guidance to support progress.
• Use instructional strategies for individuals and small groups inside/outside the classroom.
• Assist with organizing materials and instructional space to support students.
• Monitor student progress and collect data as requested by staff.
