Job summary

Volusia County Schools seeks a Paraprofessional III to support K-2 students at Discovery Elementary School. You will assist teachers with instruction, supervise students, and help with daily activities, behavior management, and documentation under supervision.

The role requires STAR training, a high school diploma or GED, and passing ParaPro assessment; computer and typing skills are essential, and confidentiality is required.

Qualifications

• Holds a High School diploma or GED or equivalent and two years of college (48 hours) or an Associate’s degree.
• Successful completion of the STAR substitute training within one year of hire.
• Passing ParaPro assessment required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Work with students in small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Provide supervision of students after STAR training.
• Assist the teacher in delivering instructions and documenting student progress.
• Utilize computer software to document and report on the program.
• Assist in managing student behavior to maintain a learning environment.
• Support instructional tasks and materials as directed by the teacher.
• Assist with activities of daily living and safety as needed.
