Job summary

Applitrack on CAMPUS is seeking an SCE Instructional Paraprofessional III to work directly with identified at-risk students, supporting teachers in planning and delivering instructional activities and in developing and managing materials.

You will conduct individual and small-group tutorials, help with technology integration, and maintain student records, under the supervision of certified teachers and academic staff.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 48 college hours.
  • Knowledge of mathematics, science, English/language arts, and/or social studies concepts appropriate to the age and grade level student with which the paraprofessional will work.
  • Ability to manage materials and equipment effectively.
  • Communicates effectively with students, teachers, and other personnel.
  • Works cooperatively with others.
  • Works with the teachers in promoting a quality program.

Responsibilities

  • Plans with the classroom teacher(s) to provide ongoing instructional activities for a flexible instructional program that meets the needs of identified at-risk students.
  • Administers diagnostic and evaluative instruments to individual students and small groups of identified at-risk students to determine student skill needs and progress.
  • Prepares, organizes, and manages materials and equipment according to daily lesson plans to meet the instructional needs of identified at-risk students.
  • Reinforces skills previously presented by the classroom teacher(s) with individual or small groups of identified at-risk students.
  • Assists with the integration of technology into the curriculum.
  • Maintains student's records of identified at-risk students.
  • Performs other duties in support of success for identified at-risk students as assigned.

Function

The SCE (State Compensatory Education) Instructional Paraprofessional III works directly with identified at-risk students as a priority, and generally assists the teacher(s) in the planning and conducting of instructional activities and in the developing and managing of materials and equipment for use with students at risk of dropping out of school due to unsatisfactory academic performance. The paraprofessional also conducts individual and/or small group tutorials with at-risk students, under the immediate supervision of certified core subject-area teachers, academic dean, or instructional teacher advisor.
