Earlylearningconnections is seeking a Paraprofessional to assist the Head Teacher with classroom instruction and related duties in a Head Start setting.

The role involves reinforcing lesson plans, supporting the teaching team, preparing meals, maintaining hygiene, and promoting child development through structured, developmentally appropriate activities. Collaboration with families is emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce daily lesson plans.
• Support/Assist teaching team as they implement Curriculum and Head Start Performance Standards in the classroom.
• Assist with preparation and clean-up of meals.
• Complete classroom sanitation and hygiene routines.
• Assist with toileting/diapering.
• Participate in all necessary trainings or meetings.
• Promote the organization in the community by sharing the responsibility of active recruitment of children.
• Support program-wide adoption of the teaching pyramid model to promote social-emotional development and address challenging behavior.
• Help create and maintain a positive organizational culture by modeling behavioral expectations with children, families, staff and visitors.
• Structure a developmentally appropriate education experience in the classroom.
• Teach students to follow rules and procedures in the classroom and school.
• Monitor students' progress throughout the year.
• Communicate progress and concerns with tact to the head teacher/Program Manager.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with parents.
• Enforce safety and security standards for children, staff, and visitors.
• Maintain knowledge of research, developments, and best practices in early childhood education.

Job description

The primary duty of the Paraprofessional is to help the Head Teacher with classroom instruction and other duties as assigned.

• Staff will support the program-wide adoption of the teaching pyramid model to promote the development of young children's social-emotional competence and address challenging behavior.
• Staff will create and maintain a positive organizational culture by demonstrating the program-wide behavioral expectations in their social interactions with children, families, community members and colleagues.
• Structure a developmentally appropriate education experience in the classroom
