PediaStaff is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional Teacher Assistant for the 26/27 school year in Chambersburg, PA. This role supports special education students under the guidance of lead teachers and follows district plans to promote a positive learning environment.

The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma with first aid and CPR certifications, and is prepared for ongoing professional development and collaboration with educators throughout the year.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must have or obtain current First Aid certificate.
• Must have or obtain CPR certificate.
• LIU-approved crisis management cert preferred.
• Obtain PA Dept. of Education competency within 1 year of hire.
• Complete 20 hours of professional development annually.
• Experience with students in an educational setting preferred.
• Patience, flexibility and positive attitude; strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in classroom and support special education students.
• Follow instructional plans and implement classroom activities.
• Support behavior management and create a positive learning environment.
• Document student progress and communicate with staff.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to meet student needs.

Role Overview/Job Details:

• Position Needed: Special Education Paraprofessional
• Location: Chambersburg, PA 17202
• Dates: 8/17/2026-6/1/2027
• Hours: 7:45 am- 3:15 pm
• Assignment: Principal will discuss and determine with candidate

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in first aid
• Must have or obtain and maintain a current certificate in CPR
• Must have or obtain and maintain current certificate in LIU-approved crisis management and intervention program, preferred
• Must obtain additional competency as mandated by PA Dept. of Education (within one year from date of hire)
• Must complete twenty (20) hours of professional development related to assignment each year
• Relevant experience working with students in an educational setting (preferred)
• Patience, flexibility, and positive attitude
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with teachers and staff
