LEARN Charter School Network in Washington, DC is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students under the guidance of teachers and Diverse Learning staff. You will assist individuals or groups with social, academic, and physical needs throughout the school day.

The ideal candidate holds a Paraprofessional License or at least 60 college credits, and a Bachelor's degree is preferred. Bilingual candidates and those with classroom experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of instructional program based on the student’s IEP goals.
• Take direction from Classroom Teacher, Diverse Learning Teacher and Principal.
• Promotes independence, social skills and self-esteem for students.
• Communicates effectively with students to promote understanding.
• Monitors behavior and academic achievement; supports classroom culture.
• Assists in differentiating instruction using appropriate assessments.
• Address students' academic needs with minimal supervision.
• Maintains positive relationships with staff.
