Job summary

Middletown Township Public Schools is seeking qualified paraprofessionals to support middle school, high school, and adult transition students. This role requires working with instructional staff to deliver lessons and to assist with data collection and behavioral plans.

Positions start immediately through 6/30/2027, with hours up to 29.75 per week. Qualifications include 48 college credits or Paraprofessional Praxis, with NJ Teaching Certificate preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 48 college credits or Paraprofessional Praxis test required.
• NJ Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Paraprofessionals hired prior to June 2005 may be exempt from some qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher in the delivery of effective instructional program.
• Record and/or collect data under the direction of the teacher.
• Monitor and implement a student's Behavior Intervention Plan / address behavior as required.
• Assist with physical care of students, including mobility, feeding, toileting, and diapering.

Qualifications *

• Minimum of 48 college credits or Paraprofessional Praxis test required.

NJ Teaching Certificate preferred

*Paraprofessionals who were hired and have been continuously employed with MTPS as of June 2005 and passed the in-district paraprofessional assessment are not required to meet the qualifications above.
