Job summary

Allentown School District is seeking a Part Time Paraprofessional (Cafeteria) at Dodd Elementary School. Starting hourly rate: $21.22/hr.

The role supports a safe, supportive environment in cafeterias, playgrounds, bus areas and other settings as assigned by the principal. Duties include aiding in maintaining order, developing positive social behavior, and responding to emergencies per standing orders.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Must have Act 34/114/151 clearances.
• TB test and physical with ADA accommodations as applicable.
• U.S. citizen or valid work visa.

Responsibilities

• Assist the principal in maintaining a safe, orderly cafeteria and school grounds.
• Support students to develop appropriate social behavior in cafeteria and on school property.
• Respond to emergencies per standing orders and policies.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or principal.

Education

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Valid Act 34, 114, and Act 151 clearances.
• Valid tuberculosis test and physical examination with ADA reasonable accommodations stipulated, as appropriate.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the principal in maintaining a safe and orderly, but non-oppressive, environment in the cafeteria and on school property and grounds.
• Assist the principal in developing appropriate social behavior in the cafeteria and on school property and grounds.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations as per standing orders and other policies and procedures.
• Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned or delegated by the Superintendent of Schools or principal.
