Job summary

The Excel Center – Northern Indiana is seeking a dynamic Paraprofessional to support in-class instruction with follow up and remedial support, including small group instruction and hands-on help with the classroom teacher.

The Paraprofessional must demonstrate timeliness, confidentiality, integrity, and excellent verbal and written skills. Flexible schedule and collaboration with staff are essential, with duties ranging from attendance support to test administration.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Achievement of Para-Pro Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Execute recruitment strategies to attract prospective students through outreach and events.
• Maintain classroom order and discipline.
• Assist with academic remediation and small group instruction.
• Collect, record, and send student work to the appropriate destinations.
• If equipment is malfunctioning, make it top priority to remedy the trouble.
• Support in-class instruction.
• Assist with student attendance keeping.
• Assist with student comprehension of academic expectations.
• Administer tests and make-up tests.
• Communicate student’s progress with teachers and coaches.
• Other duties as assigned.
