Job summary

PRO Companies in Dunmore, PA is seeking a Paraprofessional to support K-12 programs in Autistic Support and Life Skills classrooms. This full-time, hourly position follows the school calendar, with summers off and pay only for hours worked.

You’ll assist students under a certified professional, help with instructional and non-instructional tasks, and participate in documentation and attendance. A high school diploma is required and experience working with children is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required; Associate’s degree or higher is highly preferred.
• At least one year of paraprofessional experience with children in a school setting is highly preferred.
• Experience with children with behavioral challenges and daily living skills is highly preferred.
• Comfort with using a computer and completing school district documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with instructional and non-instructional activities under supervision.
• Maintain regular attendance and support the teaching process as directed.
• Adapt to program assignments as directed by a certified professional.

Schedule: Full-time, M-F 8am-2:30pm, Hourly position; you are only paid for the hours that you work.

Caseload: K-12, Autistic Support, Multiple Disabilities, and Life Skills classrooms

Additional Details: Paraprofessionals will provide services during the school calendar year and will follow the school calendar for days off, holidays, etc. Summers are off; ESY may be available but is not guaranteed.

What you’ll do as a Paraprofessional

A Paraprofessional's functions are to increase the quality of education by assisting students with instructional and non-instructional activities. Paraprofessionals are not responsible for the design, direction, or evaluation of the teaching/learning process. Because the Paraprofessional is assisting students, regular attendance is required to fulfill the duties of this position. A Paraprofessional may be used in any instructional situation under the direct, immediate supervision of a certified professional to perform those tasks specified in the job description. The role of the assistant varies according to the program assignment.

Qualifications
