Job summary

Global Psychological seeks a skilled Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with special needs in a Redford Charter Township classroom. You will assist the teacher with group and individual instruction, prepare materials, and help manage classroom activities.

This part-time position requires a high school diploma, at least 60 college credits, and a commitment to following classroom procedures and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 60 college credits hours in any subject are required.
• Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
• Experience working in a classroom setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in group instruction prescribed by the teacher, provide individual instruction, and demonstrate various instructional activities.
• Correct students' work while in progress, keep students on task and report student progress to the teacher.
• Prepare visual aids and duplicate materials, organize materials at the end of each day, distribute and collect instructional materials.
• Serve as a proctor during testing, assist in grading student’s papers as instructed by the teacher.
• File data according to regulatory requirements.
• Supervise students in the classroom and other locations.
• Ensure compliance with laws, codes, and regulations related to services.
• Submit reports as required.
• Maintain neat, accurate, current, and complete records and reports in a standardized company format.
