Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Paraprofessional for a Kansas City, MO school district. You will provide individualized support to students with significant needs, helping them participate in classroom activities and build independence.

This role offers competitive pay up to $22/hour, W-2 employment with liability insurance, healthcare benefits, 401(k) with company match, mileage reimbursement, and ongoing mentorship within a collaborative school team.

Qualifications

• Must have 60 college credits or completed the 20 hour substitute cert or ParaPathways/ParaPro.
• Experience with children or individuals with significant support needs or disabilities preferred.
• Compassion, patience, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow individualized education and behavior support plans.
• School-based or paraprofessional experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with significant support needs.
• Assist students with academic activities, communication, and daily living skills as needed.
• Implement behavior support plans and instructional strategies under the classroom team's direction.
• Support students with mobility, transitions, and classroom participation.
• Reinforce social, emotional, communication, and functional life skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, therapists, and related service providers.
• Help maintain a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
• Maintain basic documentation as needed.
