Ampersand Therapy is a local, women- and therapist-operated company focused on schools in Western Washington. We seek a Paraprofessional – Virtual Speech Therapy E-Helper to support students during remote therapy sessions, while working in Cheney, WA.

This is a full-time role for the 2026–2027 school year, with in-person school-based support and collaboration with a remote SLP. Strong communication, tech comfort, and a passion for helping children thrive are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must meet one of: 72 quarter credits (100 level+), associate degree, or state-approved paraeducator assessment.

Responsibilities

• Help students access and participate in scheduled virtual speech therapy sessions.
• Set up devices, headphones, and materials needed for sessions.
• Assist with basic technology troubleshooting and communicate connection issues to appropriate staff.
• Support student attention, engagement, and participation under the direction of the remote SLP.
• Help students transition to and from therapy sessions.
• Prepare and organize activities and materials as directed by the SLP.
• Communicate observations and student needs to the SLP and school team.
• Maintain student confidentiality and help create a safe, supportive learning environment.

Paraprofessional – Virtual Speech Therapy E-Helper | Full Time | Cheney, WA | 2026–2027 School Year

Ampersand Therapy is hiring a Paraprofessional to support students as a Virtual Speech Therapy E-Helper in Cheney, Washington. In this role, you’ll work in person with students while they receive speech therapy from a remote Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). If you enjoy working with children and helping them stay engaged in learning, we’d love to hear from you!

Job Highlights:

• Schedule: Full-time for the 2026–2027 school year
• Setting: In-person, school-based support for virtual speech therapy sessions
• Start Date: ASAP
• Pay: $22–$25/hour

Responsibilities:

Qualifications:

• Experience working with children
• Must currently have a secondary school (high school) diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Must fulfill one of the three following requirements:
  • Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university
  • Have earned an associate degree or higher
  • Have passed a state-approved paraeducator assessment , such as the ETS ParaPro test with a score of 455 or higher
• Comfort using computers, video conferencing platforms, and basic technology
• Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
• Ability to follow directions from the supervising SLP and school staff
• Experience supporting students with disabilities preferred
• Right Response or CPI training is a plus
• Ability to complete required district onboarding and background checks
