Tiffany and Company, based in New York, seeks a Computational Designer to expand 3D CAD capabilities and develop parametric tools for jewelry design and manufacturing. You’ll collaborate with internal and external CAD teams to implement, maintain, and optimize Grasshopper definitions and related scripts.

The role emphasizes creating scalable computational workflows, automating geometry tasks, and driving digital innovation within the JDIW to deliver high‑quality Tiffany pieces.

Qualifications

• BA or MA in Industrial Design, Computational Design or comparable.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in progressive Computational Design.
• Strong proficiency in Rhino/Grasshopper, computational geometry, version control, and documentation standards.
• Portfolio demonstrating computational and generative design.
• Experience with high-precision complex geometry in Rhino (NURBS, SubD, mesh).
• Strong Python and C#; experience with RhinoCommon preferred.

Responsabilités

• Build and refine end-to-end digital pipelines translating design intent into computational workflows.
• Develop solutions to streamline creation of complex geometries across collections, including size-run automation.
• Apply scripted solutions to optimize and automate repetitive tasks where possible.
• Partner with CAD designers, engineers, jewelers, and external partners to accelerate product development and manufacturing innovation.
• Establish and maintain standards, documentation, and shared scripting practices for scalability and maintenance.
• Evaluate and validate new generative design applications and plug-ins for Tiffany’s ecosystem.
• Ensure all models and parametric solutions follow industry best practices and manufacturing standards.
• Convert Grasshopper definitions into scalable Python and C# applications.
