Job summary

Tiffany & Co. has an opening for a Computational Designer in the Jewelry Design and Innovation Workshop (JDIW) on Manhattan's East 23rd Street. You will expand 3D CAD capabilities and create parametric solutions for jewelry design and manufacturing.

You will collaborate with CAD designers, engineers, jewelers, and external partners to accelerate product development. Proficiency in Rhino/Grasshopper, Python, and C# is essential, with an emphasis on scalable, well-documented workflows.

Qualifications

• BA or MA in Industrial Design, Computational Design or comparable.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in progressive Computational Design.
• Strong proficiency in Rhino/Grasshopper, computational geometry, version control, and documentation standards.
• A portfolio demonstrating computational and generative design applied to product design and development contexts.
• Extensive experience with high-precision geometry in Rhino (NURBS, SubD, mesh).
• Strong proficiency in Python and C#; RhinoCommon experience preferred.
• Ideate and apply generative methods to inspire future design.
• Experience tutoring and training colleagues in computational design concepts.
• Ability to work independently and in teams; strong collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Expand JDIW’s 3D CAD capabilities to support design, manufacturing, and digital innovation.
• Create advanced parametric solutions and custom design-automation tools for jewelry design.
• Collaborate with CAD development teams to implement and optimize Grasshopper definitions.
• Convert Grasshopper scripts into scalable Python and C# applications.
• Establish standards, documentation, and shared scripting practices for consistency.
• Evaluate new generative design tools for compatibility with Tiffany’s ecosystem.
• Lead and document design processes to meet manufacturing standards.
• Train internal and external CAD collaborators in computational design concepts.
