Job summary

Hennepin Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), part of Hennepin County Medical Center, seeks Paramedics starting Oct 17, 2026. A $5,000 hiring incentive is available for eligible external candidates. Shifts include day/evening/night with rotating weekends/holidays.

Paramedics will provide Basic and Advanced Life Support, respond to 9-1-1 calls, and operate EMS equipment. Associated benefits and HCAPE union representation apply.

Qualifications

• EMT-Paramedic certification required.
• Minnesota EMT-Paramedic certification or National Registry.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no more than two moving violations in past three years).

Responsibilities

• Respond to requests for emergency medical services as directed.
• Respond to events such as fires, helicopter landings, hazardous incidents, FAA emergencies, and water emergencies.
• Provide Basic and Advanced Life Support to patients at scenes and during transport.
• Lead teams and direct First Responders to ensure patient care and transport.
• Document runs and patient contacts per department standards.

Education

Associate Degree (AA, AAS, or AS) in healthcare, business, or related field
