Job summary

ConnectedHealth is seeking a Travel Paramedic for a 13-week contract near Mount Carmel, IL. Provide advanced life support in county and hospital EMS, responding to 911 calls, with pay up to $45/hr and two 24-hour shifts per week.

Responsibilities include responding to emergency calls, performing patient assessments, initiating interventions, administering medications, establishing IV/IO access, and providing ALS. Coordinate care with ED staff and maintain thorough PCR documentation.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Paramedic education program.
• Current Illinois Paramedic License or eligibility to obtain Illinois licensure before assignment begins.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Valid driver's license and ability to meet ambulance operation requirements.
• Ability to work independently and respond to high-pressure emergency situations.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 911 emergency calls and provide advanced prehospital emergency medical care in EMS settings.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and initiate appropriate interventions.
• Administer medications, establish IV/IO access, and manage advanced airway.
• Provide advanced cardiac life support including ECG interpretation and defibrillation.
• Stabilize and transport critically ill or injured patients to facilities.
• Collaborate with ED staff, dispatchers, and first responders.
• Operate EMS equipment and assist with ambulance operations.
• Complete accurate PCRs and document patient outcomes.
• Assist with interfacility transfers and emergency transport as assigned.
• Maintain readiness of ambulances and supplies.
• Follow EMS protocols, safety regulations, and infection control standards.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

• Respond to 911 emergency calls and provide advanced prehospital emergency medical care in county and hospital-based EMS settings.

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, identify life-threatening conditions, and initiate appropriate emergency interventions.

• Administer medications, establish IV/IO access, and perform advanced airway management according to established EMS protocols.

• Provide advanced cardiac life support, including ECG interpretation, cardiac monitoring, and defibrillation when indicated.

• Stabilize and transport critically ill or injured patients to appropriate medical facilities.

• Collaborate with emergency department physicians, nurses, dispatchers, and other first responders to coordinate patient care.

• Safely operate emergency medical equipment and assist with ambulance operations.

• Complete accurate patient care reports (PCRs) and maintain thorough documentation of assessments, treatments, and patient outcomes.

• Assist with interfacility transfers and emergency patient transport as assigned.

• Maintain readiness of ambulances, medical supplies, medications, and emergency equipment.

• Follow all applicable EMS protocols, safety regulations, infection control procedures, and patient confidentiality standards.

Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Paramedic education program.

• Current Illinois Paramedic License or eligibility to obtain Illinois licensure before the assignment begins.

• Current BLS certification.

• Current ACLS certification.

• Valid driver's license and ability to meet applicable ambulance operation requirements.

• Ability to work independently, demonstrate sound clinical judgment, and respond effectively to high-pressure emergency situations.

• Strong communication, teamwork, and critical-thinking skills.

Preferred Skills:

• PALS certification preferred.

• NREMT Paramedic Certification preferred.

• Minimum 1-2 years of recent Paramedic experience preferred.

• Previous experience in 911 emergency response, rural EMS, county EMS, or hospital-based ambulance services strongly preferred.
