Job summary

Freeman Health System in Springdale, AR is seeking a paramedic to support RNs and physicians in delivering patient care in the Emergency Department. The role emphasizes collaboration, adherence to nursing process, and safe, efficient care under the supervision of a registered nurse and medical director.

Requirements include EMTP completion; preferred Critical Care Paramedic and at least one year of paramedic experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists RNs and physicians in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.

• Functions under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse with direction of the nursing and medical director; paramedics may perform ED functions per policy.

Functions under the supervision and direction of a registered nurse with direction of the nursing and medical director. Paramedics may perform patient care functions in accordance with their scope of practice under State law and in accordance with the Northwest Health System policy/procedure titled "Role of the Paramedic in the Hospital Setting" (Policy No. 2151.1) Only paramedics who have graduated from an accredited program in paramedic science and have a current state certification and/or license will be hired in the Emergency Department.
