Job summary

Oakton Community College is seeking a part-time EMT-P Skills Lab Instructor in Skokie, IL to supervise and support students in the EMT-P lab. The role involves coordinating simulations, maintaining lab equipment, and assisting with curriculum oversight under the Paramedic Lead Instructor.

Requirements include a current IDPH paramedic license, IDPH Lead Instructor and/or NAEMSE Instructor I, and AHA BLS; EMT-B/EMT-P experience is preferred. Schedule: 20 hours per week; Salary: $27.20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Current IDPH paramedic license is required.
• Must hold IDPH Lead Instructor and/or NAEMSE Instructor I certification.
• CPR/AHA Basic Life Support certification is required.
• Fire Service Instructor I certification (or transcript) is required.
• Prior EMT-B or EMT-P training experience is preferred.
• Proficient with computer software for simulator functions and AV equipment.

Responsibilities

• Direct operational activities and provide instructional support in the EMT-P lab.
• Supervise and mentor students; document progress in the skills lab.
• Program simulations and manage post-simulation documentation.
• Maintain inventory and procurement of EMS equipment and supplies.
• Troubleshoot equipment (manikins, projectors, medical devices) in the lab.
• Coordinate with the Paramedic Lead Instructor and participate in curriculum meetings.
• Prepare supplies and documentation for lab instruction and testing.
• Provide feedback on lab outcomes to the Program Coordinator.
