Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a Paramedic to provide high-level prehospital care and rapid transport in the EMS setting. The role requires assessing patients, performing advanced life support, and coordinating with hospital teams to ensure timely care.

Responsibilities include administering medications, performing EKGs and monitoring, and maintaining accurate documentation while working under medical direction. Ongoing training and licensure are expected as per policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associates Degree in Paramedic Technology or Paramedicine preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of paramedic principles, practices and techniques.
• Depending on location, holds national registry status at a Paramedic level.
• Additional training and licensure as required depending on state.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency care and treatment and determine the nature and extent of illness or injury and establish priority for required emergency care.
• Administer emergency care and transport to appropriate emergency facilities.
• Assist with EKGs, cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, respiratory management and therapy, and wound care as directed.
• Maintain documentation of patient condition and treatment for records and diagnostics.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians and keep patients and families informed.
