Job summary

ProMedica in Fremont, Ohio is hiring a Paramedic (EMT-P) for Mobile ICU to provide field and transfer care from 8:00am to 8:00pm, 42 weekly hours, full-time days. You will assess patients under state protocols and collaborate with the health team.

Requirements include Ohio EMT-P certification, Michigan license within 30 days, valid driver's license with clean MVR, and certifications BCLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, PEPP, NRP within 6 months. Eligible for sign-on bonus of $7,500.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a certified EMT Paramedic (EMT-P) in Ohio; Michigan licensure within 30 days.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (MVR).
• Certifications: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, PEPP, NRP within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient care in the field or during transfer to a designated facility.

• Maintain readiness and cleanliness of PTN vehicles and equipment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• All duties listed below are essential unless noted otherwise
• Practices within the scope of practice for appropriate state certification under medical supervision.
• Demonstrates appropriate assessment skills in following established patient care protocols and collaborates with other health team members.
• Practices within their scope of practice as defined by the appropriate State certification and shall be accountable for their actions.
• Provide a safe, therapeutic, and efficient patient care environment through collaboration with other disciplines.
• Supports and adheres to the State of Ohio, Michigan, ProMedica Health System and ProMedica Transportation Network policies and procedures.
• Assist in assessment and treatment of patient care needs in the field or at the transferring medical facility, and ensures the patient needs are met, reassessed, and treated constantly until the patient is delivered to designated treatment facility.
• Maintain PTN vehicles in a constant state of readiness and cleanliness.
• Document checks of PTN vehicles and equipment every shift.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent
• Skills: Must interact well with people and be flexible in assuming a variety of tasks in a hospital and pre-hospital setting. Ability to work independently and make decisions away from the controlled hospital environment. Must be able to understand directions, communicate and respond to inquiries; requires effective interpersonal skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and have excellent public relations skills. Must be able to maintain composure and utilize tact in stressful situations. Must be able to input and retrieve information from computer. Must be able to read maps and follow directions.

• License: Must be a certified EMT Paramedic (EMT-P) in the State of Ohio. Michigan licensure must be obtained within 30 days of hire. Valid drivers license in the state in which you will work and a clean driving record, as demonstrated by an MVR in order to be covered under the Company's insurance policy.
• Certification: Must obtain in (6) months of hire and maintain: BCLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, PEPP, NRP

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Personal Protective Equipment: As required.
• Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, temperature changes, and exposure to bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids. Must be able to tolerate exposure to odors such as diesel, jet fuel, and truck/aircraft engine exhaust. Must be able to tolerate working in environment of extreme heat, cold or weather changes. Meet physical agility requirements. Must be able to frequently move, lift or carry light to heavy patients and/or heavy equipment and materials. Must be able to remain functional in a moving vehicle and aircraft.
