Job Summary

Administers quality patient care to patients under the supervision of an RN or physician, demonstrating clinical competence and meeting established standards. Promotes teamwork with staff, physicians, and other disciplines.

Job Duties
  • Demonstrates the organization's mission and core values at all times.
  • Adheres to all laws and regulations related to patient health, safety, and medical information.
  • Collaborates with RNs and physicians to support patient care plans.
  • Triages patients according to ESI protocol, performs intubations, starts IVs, administers medications, and other procedures as trained and directed.
  • Performs splint applications, cast removals, and other procedures after training.
  • Monitors vital signs, pulses, pulse oximetry, and EKG as needed.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies in patient areas.
  • Assists with communication and continuing education activities.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • EMT-P licensure for Indiana.
  • ACLS Certification.
  • One year of EMT-P practice experience.
Skills and Attributes
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance.
