Provides patient care under the supervision of a physician and registered nurse, ensuring safe and compassionate care. Responsibilities include obtaining and recording vital signs, monitoring respiratory status, performing suctioning, and assisting in resuscitative efforts as directed. Performs skills such as phlebotomy, IV therapy, medication administration, intubation, ECG, and laboratory testing, demonstrating competency in each area. Initiates cardiac monitoring and detects dysrhythmias, notifying appropriate personnel as needed. Applies orthopedic appliances, sizes crutches, and teaches crutch walking. Assists with C-spine stabilization, patient immobilization, and monitoring sedation. Operates monitoring equipment safely and reports unsafe conditions. Assists with patient restraints and collaborates with the healthcare team for complex cases. Provides basic bedside care, documents services accurately, and maintains infection control standards. Collects lab samples and performs testing per regulations. Maintains confidentiality and ensures availability of supplies and equipment. Supports patient comfort, including meal preparation, and maintains a clean environment. Participates in training and meetings, and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Applicable experience: 1 year as a Paramedic (KS) with Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services
