Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Dallas, TX is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor safety, and work under the Center Manager and Center Physician guidance.

The role requires high school diploma or nursing program equivalence, EMT-Paramedic licensure, CPR/AED certification, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, medical history interview, health history review, physical exam and SPE review
• Evaluate donor reactions and manage medical emergencies per SOPs and standing orders
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees
• Manage employee incidents and determine if occupational health/ER evaluation is needed
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations in the local community
