Job summary

Adventist Health Tillamook is seeking a Paramedic to provide emergency care in the pre-hospital environment and support advanced-level medical care. The role requires a Paramedic license, BLS, and ACLS credentials, with preferred 911 experience.

This is a full-time position located in Tillamook, Oregon. The candidate will evaluate and stabilize ill or injured patients, administer medications, and participate in high-quality pre-hospital care within the Ambulance department.

Qualifications

  • Education and Work Experience: Required/Preferred as stated in job post.
  • Three years' full time experience in a 911 system: Preferred
  • Paramedic license in state of practice: Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association: Required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation according to acceptable medical practice standards, issued standing orders, on-line medical control and department policies and procedures.
  • Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment.
  • Provides fundamental components of patient comfort, safety, privacy and respect within the perioperative setting. Identifies and develops areas of expertise within the surgical specialties.
  • Conducts emergency medical classes as requested by department manager.
  • Administers oral and intravenous medications. Intubates patients or performs surgical airway insertion (cricothyrotomy), and place catheters for venous access such as central venous lines.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment. Provides advanced-level medical care including evaluation, treatment and stabilization to the ill and injured. Has a comprehensive knowledge base and is able to diagnose and provide care for a broad range of medical emergencies. Responds to calls for emergency medical assistance, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or bandaging a wound. Assesses a patient's condition and determine a course of treatment. Provides first-aid treatment or life support care to sick or injured patients according to acceptable medical practice standards.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience:

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications
  • Paramedic license in state of practice: Required

  • Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 yrs of age or older: Required

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
