Job summary

Valley Medical Transport is seeking a Paramedic to provide safe, high-quality medical transportation up to ALS level under the direction of the dispatch center and Operations Manager.

Requires a high school diploma, EMT-Paramedic certification, BLS, EVOC, ACLS, and PALS, with DOT medical and driving record requirements. Per diem, hourly pay between $25.02 and $37.53.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• State and/or National Registry EMT-Paramedic certification required.
• BLS (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider) required.
• EVOC or approved equivalent required or to be obtained within 60 days.
• ACLS and PALS certifications required or to be completed within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality medical transportation up to ALS level.
• Operate under dispatch center and Operations Manager direction.
• Accurately document patient information in EMR in a timely manner.

Job Description: The Paramedic is responsible for providing safe, high-quality, and customer-focused medical transportation up to the advanced life support level to and from medical facilities, under the direction of Valley Medical Transport’s dispatch center and the Operations Manager.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Certification & Licensures

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• DOT Medical Examiner's certificate is required.
• BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required.
• New hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to completion of orientation.
• EMT Paramedic for primary state and/or National Registry or both is required.
• EMT Paramedic for primary state required by end of six-month orientation period.
• EMT Paramedic for secondary state within 12 months of hire date is required.
• VA EVOC (Emergency Vehicle Operators Certificate) or approved equivalent required or must be obtained within 60 days. EVOC will be provided during orientation.
• Must satisfy the requirements for and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must satisfy the requirements for a DOT equivalent physical examination to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate, as well as submit to periodic drug screenings, as defined by applicable federal, state, and VH policies & regulations.
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent is required.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) course completion or approved equivalent required within six months of employment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Basic level ability navigating in Microsoft Windows and ability to accurately gather and enter data into an electronic medical record in a timely manner.
• Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
• Must have and maintain a driving record that is acceptable to the company’s insurance carrier.
• Must be able to accurately perform pharmacological calculations.
