Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a dedicated EMS Paramedic to deliver emergency medical care in the pre-hospital setting in Canonsburg, PA. You will communicate with hospital teams and field staff to ensure effective care and transport for critically ill or injured patients.

The ideal candidate has a PA Paramedic license (or EMS Compact), Medical Command eligibility, a high school diploma or GED, and at least five years of EMS experience. A $1,000 sign-on bonus applies with a one-year commitment.

Qualifications

Under AHN Prehospital Care Services, Canonsburg Ambulance provides emergency and non-emergency care to Washington County, PA. We are seeking candidates interested in rural, community based EMS.

General Overview

Provides emergency medical care to the sick and injured patients in the pre-hospital environment; effectively communicates with all persons and departments involved in the administration of Emergency Medical Care.

Essential Responsibilities

• Determines nature and extent of illness or injury; provide basic and advanced life support to the critically ill and injured during treatment and transport in the pre-hospital setting. (50%)
• Drives emergency or response vehicle. (20%)
• Completes required documentation according to regulatory standards. (15%)
• Maintains equipment and inventory of supplies including BLS and ALS and has accountability for medications on every EMS unit per regulatory standards. (15%)
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Minimum

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• For Prehospital Response Unit 5 years’ relevant experience and current preceptor status
• Medical Command eligible
• PA certification as Paramedic or EMS Compact Privilege to Practice in Pennsylvania at the Paramedic level or licensed PA PHRN

Preferred

• Basic Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Haz-Mat Technician. IRC 100, 200 and IS 700, 800, ABLS and ASLS
• One year experience (AHN EMS)

• EMSVO within 30 days of hire
• ACLS within 30 days of hire
• ITLS/PHTLS within 2 months of hire
• PALS within 30 days of hire
• CPR – American Heart Association
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
• Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
• Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
