Job description

Join to apply for the Paramedic OR Nurse - LPN, LVN or RN role at CSL.

The Opportunity

Responsible for evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, supervising immunizations (excluding red blood cell immunizations), and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including administering medications or treatments as per licensure or certification.

You will report to the Center Manager.

The Role

• Promote positive customer relations with all donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews to assess donor suitability.
• Coordinate with the Center Medical Director/Physician on medically related questions.
• Perform health assessments and review test results to determine donor eligibility.
• Notify and counsel donors regarding reactive test results and refer for follow-up.
• Explain informed consent and obtain signatures.
• Handle medical emergencies and maintain emergency kits.
• Review test results and maintain donor records accurately.
• Ensure a clean work environment and compliance with safety policies.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Possibility of cross-training and bilingual skills requirement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience

Education:

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical school, or naturopathic program. Foreign graduates must be licensed or certified appropriately.

Experience:

• At least one year in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in plasma or blood collection preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments and instruct donors and staff.

Working Conditions

• Decision-making impact, ability to follow instructions, and observe equipment and donors.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, and perform assessments.
• Exposure to hazardous materials and bloodborne pathogens; use of PPE required.
• Overtime and extended hours may be necessary.
