Job description

Join to apply for the Paramedic OR Nurse - LPN, LVN or RN role at CSL.

This position involves evaluating donor suitability for automated pheresis procedures, administering immunizations (excluding red blood cell immunizations), and providing limited emergency medical care to donors and staff, including medication administration in accordance with licensure or certification.

You will report to the Center Manager.

The Role

• Promote positive customer relations with donors.
• Conduct confidential interviews to assess donor suitability.
• Coordinate with medical staff on donor health questions and test results.
• Perform health assessments and review lab tests for donor suitability.
• Manage reactive test results and provide donor counseling.
• Explain informed consent procedures to donors.
• Handle medical emergencies per SOPs, ensure emergency kits are stocked.
• Review test results and determine continued donor eligibility.
• Oversee donor immunization programs and review antibody titers.
• Accurately record donor data electronically.
• Maintain a clean work environment and ensure supplies are available.
• Follow all safety policies and promote a safety culture.
• Maintain confidentiality of all information.
• Possibility of cross-training and bilingual duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Your Skills and Experience

Education

• Graduation from a paramedic, nursing, physician assistant, chiropractic, medical or naturopathic program.
• If from a foreign medical school, current medical license or EMT certification required.

Experience

• At least 1 year in a healthcare setting.
• Experience in plasma or blood collection preferred.
• Ability to perform physical assessments and instruct donors and staff.

Working Conditions

• Decision-making with moderate impact.
• Ability to follow instructions and observe safety protocols.
• Physical ability to perform tasks, including standing, walking, lifting up to 25 pounds, and working in a fast-paced environment with exposure to hazards.
