Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Check vehicle per Part 800 standards at shift start.
• Safely operate vehicle during driving and emergencies.
• Transport wheel-stretcher bound patients as needed.
• Complete billing forms and PCRs promptly.
• Respond to assigned calls in a timely manner.
• Maintain cleanliness of quarters, vehicle, and equipment.
• Ensure safety of vehicle occupants with proper restraints.
• Provide ACLS-level treatment per state protocol.
• Restock basic supplies and equipment.
• Function effectively as a team member at scenes.
• Follow radio etiquette and procedures.
• Assume charge of patient care for ALS cases.
• Identify opportunities for service improvement and implement changes.
• Deliver quality customer service to patients and internal/external customers.
• Provide thorough, accurate, and compliant patient care documentation.
• Anticipate customer needs and proactively address them.

ALSTAR EMS is a private ambulance company servicing Chautauqua County for over 30 years. Through our ambulance stations in Dunkirk, NY and Jamestown, NY and the Starflight Medevac program, we respond to over 17,000 calls per year.

We are a growing company looking for a FULL-TIME Paramedic to join our team on NIGHT shift.

Will need to have NYS Paramedic and be CPR Certified

Responsibilities

• 1. Check vehicle per part 800 standards beginning each shift.
• 2. Operate assigned vehicle safely during driving, parking, and in emergency mode.
• 3. Safely transport wheel-stretcher bound patients as necessary.
• 4. Complete billing forms and PCRs in a timely fashion.
• 5. Responds to assigned calls in a timely fashion.
• 6. Ensure cleanliness of quarters, vehicle, and patient equipment.

• 9. Assures restocking of basic supplies and equipment.
• 10. Is able to function at scenes appropriately as a member of a team.
• 11. Uses proper radio etiquette and procedures.
• 12. Functions appropriately in charge of patient care for those requiring ALS.
• 13. Proactively works to improve services and results and takes initiative to identify opportunities for improvement and implements accordingly.
• 14. Demonstrates and delivers quality customer service to internal and external customers, always keeping patient/customer satisfaction a priority.
• 15. Provides patient care and/or generates work results that are thorough, accurate, orderly, and value-added consistent with hospital policies and procedures.
