Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources seeks a civilian Paramedic for assignment at Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, NM. The role requires a high school diploma, EMT-P certification, and DoD dive/medical technician credentials.

Three years’ paramedic experience within five years and current CPR/EMT-P qualifications are required. Responsibilities include patient assessment, EMS activation, medical coverage for trainee modules, record keeping, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Current National EMT-P certification or state EMT-Paramedic license or higher.
• Designated Dive Medical Technician & inside tender; DoD courses listed; CPR/EMT-P or US Military medic training.
• Three years of Paramedic experience within the last five years.
• Board certification via a recognized Paramedic program within the past two years.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and determine a treatment course per local protocol.
• Provide triage for training candidates requiring medical monitoring.
• Monitor medical coverage for student flight during high-risk training modules, aquatic and land-based.
• Respond, stabilize, and activate EMS for emergencies.
• Summarize injuries and care rendered to EMS responders.
• Inventory, replace, and clean supplies after use.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure proper care and monitoring.
• Coordinate daily with medical director and supervisor for oversight per EMT-P guidelines.
• Maintain accurate injury/treatment/medical release records.
• Work non-standard hours, extended shifts, and potentially travel for training.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 100 lbs and maneuvering in extreme conditions.
• May observe/participate in missions off duty station to support training.

CAAHEP-accredited Paramedic program (or Letter of Review)
