The incumbent will be a National Registry EMT-Paramedic with a valid state license, performing advanced life support, coordinating patient transport, and communicating with dispatchers and health care providers.

Qualifications

• Must hold National Registry EMT-Paramedic certification.
• Valid, unrestricted state driver’s license.
• At least one year of specialized EMS experience at GS-08 level or equivalent.
• Experience providing transportation of patients to medical treatment facilities.
• Knowledge of protocols and treatments used in emergency care for hazardous materials incidents.

Responsibilities

• Respond to accidents and emergencies requiring life support.
• Transport patients to medical treatment facilities.
• Use communication equipment to relay information to dispatchers and health care providers.
• Provide basic and advanced life support procedures.
• Apply knowledge of emergency care protocols for chemical, nuclear, biological, and hazardous materials incidents.
