Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services—not-for-profit, locally owned health system—seeks an EMT-paramedic for its Albuquerque Ambulance Service. The role provides prehospital emergency care and transport, following standing guidelines and medical direction, with on-call shifts and varied days/hours.

Qualifications

• Must maintain full-time enrollment at UNM EMSA toward a Bachelor’s of Science in EMS.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current NM Driver’s License; out-of-state candidates must obtain within 30 days of hire.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Maintain driving record insurable by Presbyterian policy.
• State of New Mexico Paramedic certification in good standing.
• ACLS certification; BLS certification.
• Must obtain medical examiner certification/DOT certification as part of on-boarding.

Responsibilities

• Provides prehospital emergency care and transportation for injured and/or ill patients.
• Delivers care utilizing standing guidelines and on-line medical direction.
• Participates in patient care based on setting and acuity.
• Administers medications and performs ALS level interventions per NM scope and policies.
• Maintains CPR and ACLS certification; documents patient care in the electronic charting system.
• Operates emergency vehicles safely per EVOC and defensive driving.
• Communicates with ED physicians and staff; attends staff meetings.
