Job summary

AMR is hiring full-time Paramedics in Merriam, Kansas, to deliver compassionate, high-quality emergency medical care. The ideal candidate will hold Kansas Paramedic certification (or be eligible), possess a valid state driver’s license, and be able to operate defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction devices, and IV therapy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Kansas Paramedic certification or eligibility is required.
• State Driver’s License is required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire.
• PALS is preferred but not required.
• Driving record must comply with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some healthcare work experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine the best course of action using Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills on equipment/procedures (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, IV fluids) for advanced care.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
• Lead the Paramedic team on scene and manage the unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance during 911 responses.
