Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified as a paramedic in the State of Texas.
• CPR certification.
• ACLS.
• PALS.
• PHTLS or ITLS.
• Communicates effectively.
• Reads, writes and interprets instructions in English.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency and non-emergency calls 24 hours per day and operates emergency vehicles.
• Reads maps and follows directions to respond efficiently and safely.
• Follows driving laws and departmental policies and procedures.
• Uses communication equipment to relay information to dispatch, EMS crews and others.
• Maintains vehicles and equipment in readiness and cleanliness.
• Completes patient care reports and billing information promptly.
• Provides direct patient care per Medical Director's authorization and protocols.
• Works under high-stress conditions with exposure to hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.
