Job summary

Northwest Mississippi Community College is seeking a qualified full-time Paramedic Instructor to join our Health Sciences faculty. This 12-month role involves classroom and lab instruction, curriculum development, and clinical oversight to prepare students for certification.

The ideal candidate holds NRP certification, a minimum of 3 years as a practicing paramedic, and strong instructional abilities. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s degree and state licensure eligibility.

Qualifications

NRP certification required.
Associate degree or higher in EMS or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 3 years field experience as a paramedic; teaching experience preferred.
Mississippi state paramedic license or eligible to obtain one on hire.
Excellent communication, organizational, and instructional skills; proficiency with EMS tech and teaching methods.
CPR and ACLS Instructor Certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Deliver classroom lectures and lead discussions for paramedic courses.
Oversee lab and simulation training to reinforce hands-on learning.
Develop, revise, and maintain course materials and assessments.
Create and implement assessment tools and provide feedback for improvement.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and national accrediting standards.
Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in faculty/committee activities.
