Job summary

Rural Metro Fire Department is hiring Paramedics to provide high-quality patient care in Washington County. Responders will assess calls, administer advanced medical procedures, and drive ambulances on 911 responses while coordinating with other emergency personnel.

The role requires Oregon paramedic certification, a valid driver's license, and current BLS/ACLS/PALS/PHTLS certifications, with a focus on teamwork and patient communication.

Qualifications

• Paramedic-level medical care and patient transport.
• Ability to drive an ambulance and manage scene safety.
• Basic and advanced life support certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine care plan per paramedic protocols.
• Use paramedic skills with defibrillator, EKG, oxygen, suction, IV fluids.
• Communicate with patients and families to explain care.
• Lead the paramedic team and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Operate ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with public safety and fellow paramedics.

Pay Rate: $69,899.83 - $110,171.00 depending on experience

We’re hiring Paramedics in Washington County that are passionate about delivering compassionate, high-quality service and basic, as well as advanced, patient care to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize your Paramedic skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and intravenous fluids to provide advanced medical care.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Oregon State Paramedic License
• State Driver’s License
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS
• ICS 100, 200, 700, 800
• Driving record in compliance with company policy
• Pass Physical Agility Test
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare
