Job summary

Waushara County is seeking a Paramedic to respond to emergency calls, provide medical therapies, and coordinate patient transport within the Wisconsin scope of practice.

The role focuses on vehicle readiness, team collaboration, and adherence to evidence-based guidelines; EMT licensure and ongoing education are required. In-person work location with a union environment and varied shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associates or bachelor degree preferred.
• Completion of accredited paramedic program or equivalent for licensure eligibility.
• Continuing education to maintain paramedic certification; ICS/NIMS training and ACLS/PALS required; other medical courses preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assures service readiness of vehicles and equipment and supplies.
• Responds to calls to develop care plans and coordinate or provide transport.
• Manages scenes to ensure safety of all involved.
• Extricates or assists in removing patients from crash scenes or other incidents.
• Uses PPE and guidelines to access patients.
• Provides therapies per guidelines within Wisconsin scope of practice.
• Communicates with dispatch, medical control, facilities, patients, and families.
