Responsibilities include assessing calls, delivering advanced care using defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and IV fluids, and leading on-scene and unit management. You will drive ambulances and collaborate with public safety teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• California Driver’s License required.
• Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV) required.
• Medical Examiner’s Card required.
• State of California Paramedic License required.
• CPR Card (AHA HEALTH CARE PROVIDER) required.
• ACLS Card (AHA) required.
• PALS Card (AHA) or PEPP required.
• Driving record in compliance with McCormick/AMR Safety and Driving policy (proof required if conditional employment is made).
• ICS courses (IS-100B/200B, IS-700A, IS-800B) required.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best course of action using Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills with medical equipment (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction, IV fluids) for advanced care.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel and fellow Paramedics.
