Job summary

The City of Greer is seeking five Full-time Paramedics for its Fire Department. You will provide prehospital medical care, perform life support, and coordinate with dispatch and hospital staff to ensure patient safety during transport.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Must have National Registry EMT – Paramedic.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
• Valid state driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid treatment or life support in prehospital settings.
• Assesses illness or injury to prioritize medical procedures.
• Administers drugs or performs IV procedures.
• Observes and reports patient condition and treatment to physicians.
• Operates medical equipment (EKGs, defibrillators, BVM) in ALS settings.
• Performs emergency cardiac care (cardioversion, defibrillation).
• Performs invasive interventions before hospital transport.
• Performs emergency pharmacological interventions.
• Attends training to maintain licensure and knowledge.
• Communicates with dispatchers and treatment centers for information and instructions.
• Coordinates work with EMS teams, police, and fire personnel.
