Job summary

American Medical Response is seeking a Paramedic in San Jose, CA to deliver advanced patient care on 12-hour shifts. You will work with a dedicated team to assess calls, utilize medical equipment, and coordinate patient transport.

Applicants must hold a State Paramedic License, valid driver’s licenses, and CPR/BLS/ACLS/PALS certifications. AMR offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus, tuition assistance, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
State Paramedic License is required.
State Driver’s License and Ambulance Driver's License are required.
Medical Examiners Card is required.
CPR (AHA BLS) or Red Cross CPR with AED is required.
Certification in BLS/ACLS/PALS/PEPP/BTLS/PHTLS is required.
Clean driving record and ability to pass agility test.
Experience in healthcare is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess each call to determine the best course of action per Paramedic protocols.
Utilize advanced medical equipment to provide care (defibrillator, monitor, oxygen, IV).
Communicate with patients and families to provide information and comfort.
Lead the Paramedic team and manage scene and unit as needed.
Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
Participate in community programs to support AMR's image.
