Job summary

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Paramedic for Giles Transport with flexible or PRN hours. The role involves life support and patient transport in pre-hospital settings, responding to 911 calls, and providing advanced care in ground or air transport as directed by physicians.

Requirements include Virginia Paramedic certification and ACLS/PALS; a clean driving record and continuing education are required. Compensation starts at $25.77 per hour with experience-based credit.

Qualifications

• Must be a Virginia-licensed Paramedic with ACLS, PALS, HazMat Awareness, NRP and PHTLS or BTLS within 1 year of hire.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Excellent driving record and ability to operate vehicle to emergency scene.

Responsibilities

• Provide life support and transport in pre-hospital settings under physician direction.
• Perform ACLS-level procedures and stabilize patients en route to care facilities.
• Document patient information and coordinate with medical control and other agencies.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and records; ensure vehicle readiness and safety.
