Job summary

City of Memphis is seeking a Firefighter/Paramedic to respond to emergencies, perform firefighting and medical procedures, and transport patients as required. You will work under an assigned fire station lieutenant and an on-duty EMS lieutenant, following protocols, maintaining paramedic licensure, and performing related duties on a 24-hour shift (56 hours/week).

• Paramedic licensure in Tennessee or eligibility by reciprocity required.

• Background check: no disqualifying felony/misdemeanor.
• Must pass NFPA-1582 medical exam and related tests.
• Must possess and maintain TN Class D license with Endorsement F.

Responsibilities

• Perform firefighting and paramedic duties on emergency calls.
• Assess patient condition, administer medical treatment as ordered.
• Transport patients by ambulance to hospitals or facilities.
• Operate trucks/equipment and connect hoses as needed.
• Maintain equipment and adhere to safety protocols.
