Job summary

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community is hiring a Paramedic/Firefighter to deliver frontline emergency medical care and ambulance transport, and to respond to fire calls within the community and partner agencies.

You will support fire suppression preplanning, disaster response, and assist the shift captain in keeping the unit ready for operation. Competitive benefits and community-focused values guide the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Paramedic (NRP) certification required.
• Able to obtain IFSAC Firefighter II certification.
• Able to obtain Haz-Mat operations certification.
• Must have a valid Minnesota driver’s license.
• Must satisfactorily perform daily physical fitness requirements.
• Capable of lifting up to 150 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide front line EMS and ambulance transport.
• Respond to fire calls within the community and mutual aid partners.
• Support fire suppression preplanning and disaster response.
• Assist shift captain to maintain high operational readiness.
