Job summary

City of Monona is seeking an LTE Firefighter/Paramedic to respond to fire, rescue, hazmat and medical emergencies. You will provide pre-hospital Advanced Life Support care and make medical decisions under standing orders and medical direction.

The role involves operating ambulances and apparatus, maintaining equipment and records, and participating in drills, education programs and routine training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• State of Wisconsin Firefighter I certification required.
• State of Wisconsin Paramedic certification required.
• Current ACLS certification required.
• Current PALS certification required.
• Current BLS CPR certification required.
• ICS 100 / ICS 700 / NIMS 800 certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, rescue, hazmat and medical emergencies as part of a team and under the Fire Chief's supervision.
• Provide pre-hospital Advanced Life Support care and make medical decisions per standing orders, protocols and medical direction.
• Drive and operate ambulance and fire apparatus; complete patient care reports to hospitals.
• Inspect and maintain equipment and inventory; ensure records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Participate in drills, training evolutions, public education programs and daily physical training.

Education
