Job summary

Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or GED
- Current Alabama Firefighter I/II certification
- Current Nationally Registered EMT
- Paramedic certification preferred
- Background checks and drug/alcohol testing required
Responsibilities
- Responds to fire calls and uses firefighting skills to control emergencies
- Operates pumps, ladders, hoses, and other equipment
- Provides emergency medical care at scenes
- Completes required incident reports
- Completes required training and maintains certifications
- Inspects equipment and performs routine maintenance
- Maintains inventory aboard vehicles and conducts inspections
- Provides fire prevention information to the public and teaches fire safety
